What is a Dutch Oven?

Hot water is sufficient for cleaning: Use a brush to remove coarser food residue. Never use soap or harsh cleaners. These destroy the fat layer and then the pan has to be seared again. Don't leave leftovers in the Dutch oven. Remove ash from lids and pots immediately after use, as ash combined with moisture can cause rust.
